"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consume for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:21-23

One of the tricks of the enemy is to try to take away your joy. He does this by occupying your mind with the pains of today and the worries of tomorrow. But the prophet reminds us in this scripture that when we think back about what the Lord has already done, then we should have hope. God has been faithful and his mercy has never failed.

Whenever I need to quickly get into the presence of the Lord I play music. Songs remind me of God's goodness. Having a song on your lips and a praise in your heart will change the atmosphere. Last night we had iPriaz practice and I rejoiced all night long. One of the songs that we were reviewing for Sunday was " Way Maker". The chorus lyrics are: Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the Darkness, That is who you are...

God has been and is all of that to me. God blessed me to celebrate 19 years of marriage on Monday. He allowed my father-in-law to be healed and celebrate his birthday in June. God has anointed our ministries to bless inward and outward. God is Faithful!

On this Throwback Thankful Thursday I invite you to do one or two things: In the comments section of this post tell us what you are thankful for and/or give us a song/phrase of the lyrics that is blessing your heart today.

TiffanyMoving From Fear to Faith
Scripture: Joshua 2: 5-24

“And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” (Joshua 2:11 KJV)

Fear is a normal emotion that God has designed and placed in us to alert us to danger. As we grow and mature physically and spiritually we become more aware and astute to the alerts. The emotion of fear should not be ignored, rather it should be controlled. Our response to fear is where we are challenged. In Psalms 56:3-4 it states: “When I am afraid, I trust in you.  In God – I boast in his promise – in God I trust, I am not afraid.” What can mere men do to me? The word of God states clearly that fear will come to us but when fear comes we must trust in God. We must have faith. Our scripture lesson outlines our process of moving from fear to faith.
